The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday and for the past two years I've celebrated our country's birthday by running the annual Four on the Fourth 4-Miler in York Beach, Maine- it was actually my first race ever, two years ago! It's a great little race around my seaside home-away-from-home and the whole town comes out to watch.
Last year I decided to dress up for the occasion in a patriotically-themed #RUNootd. I wore a pair of To see the latest round of our covered in speckled dots, because they reminded me of fireworks. I paired the navy shorts with my red Runner's World Nike Miler racing singlet (sorry, we don't sell them!). I also wore a red SparklySoul headband because it's the only active headband I've been able to find that can tame my hair and stay in place, especially during a hot race. To make the outfit complete I wore a pair of U.S.A. Procompression Marathon Socks- those were a big hit among the spectators!
Although dressing up for a race is usually not my thing, it was a fun way to celebrate the holiday. To top it off, I set a new 4-mile PR! Happy Fourth of July and good luck to everyone racing this holiday!
