Finding the right pair of running shoes is easier said than done, especially when you may not be able to go into your local running store to try them out first. But if your old road running kicks are worn out from all the miles you’ve put in during stay-at-home orders, we have reviews of these Asics shoes that can help you determine which option offers the perfect amount of comfort, support, and bounce for you.
Fortunately, Asics is currently hosting its Semi-Annual Sale with huge discounts up to 50 percent off tons of running shoes. Several of our favorite models like the GT-2000 7, Gel-Kayano 26, and Gel-Nimbus 21 are now under $100.
The Asics GT-2000 7 may be the ideal option for budding road runners. Made with a two-layer engineered mesh upper and roomier fit, it offers comfort and plenty of support. This pair also boasts responsive cushioning, thanks to the proprietary FlyteFoam Lyte material and gel padding in the heel and forefoot. For our review of this shoe, testers dubbed the GT-2000 7 “a road shoe that can take a beating so your legs don’t have to”—helpful for keeping your body feeling fresh as you take that hundredth lap around the neighborhood.
Similarly, the Gel-Nimbus 21 offers a cushioned ride thanks to its layers of Asics’s Flytefoam Propel, Flytefoam Lyte, and Gel technology on the heel and forefoot to soften the impacts from footfalls. With abrasion-resistant rubber, it’ll stand up to wet roads from spring’s showers and endure through the many miles you may log over the summer, too.
If you need some extra support, check out the Gel-Kayano 26. Built with a medial plate that extends from the middle of the foot to the heel, this shoe is designed to keep overpronators from rolling too far onto their inside edge. While it normally costs $160, you can currently buy a pair for $100.
If you’re not concerned about the weight of your shoe, the Gel-Cumulus 21 may be a good option for its two-layer foam midsole, stiff construction, and high-abrasion rubber outsole that allowed it to last well over 100 miles in our testing.
While these are some of our favorite running shoes from Asics, there are plenty more deals to explore on Asics’s site now. If you want the most style and size options, it’s best to shop sooner rather than later!
