Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren started a necktie line under the label Polo in 1967 while working for tie manufacturer, Beau Brummel. Drawing on his interests in sports, the ties were wide and crafted from high-end fabrications. In its first year of business, over $500,000 revenue of ties were sold to some of the most prestigious menswear stores including Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. The tie grew into a whole industry, spanning from clothing to footwear; homeware to accessories, beauty and fragrances.

In 1978, Ralph Lauren launched his first two fragrances, one for men and one for women, simultaneously. Created by Carlos Benaim, Polo is a potentially masculine fragrance, featuring fresh grassy and spicy notes, while Lauren is a feminine and floral bouquet with a powdery base of pulp and spices. A romantic choice for after dark, Romance is a sensual scent that evokes the feeling of falling in love. Velvety and woody, it comes with an atomiser that enhances the act of applying the fabulously feminine fragrance. Blending melon, basil and washed suede, Blue conjures the energy of open waters with an invigorating blast of fresh air. Spritz this scent liberally to evoke memories of summer all year round.
